Our Children Ministry Director, Minister, or Pastor is responsible for planning, overseeing, and implementing all aspects of the church's ministry to children (from nursery through fifth grade). With the aim of building a strong spiritual foundation for our families, our children's ministry includes areas such as children's Sunday Worship, children's Sunday School, AWANA (during the school year), Friday night children's program (summer), special events (Good Friday/Easter children's programs, Vacation Bible School, Harvest Fest, Christmas children's programs), and Harmonies in Christ (children's choir).

Bread of Life Church Torrance is seeking a creative, energetic, and passionate individual to lead a ministry that impacts over 100 children each week. The ideal candidate will be characterized by a love for Christ, a passion to see children impacted by the gospel, a vigorous prayer life, and a longing to reach unbelievers throughout the community. The applicant needs to have experience in leading and teaching children's ministry.

The Children Ministry Director, Minister, or Pastor reports to the senior pastor and shall provide spiritual leadership to the children's ministry and is responsible for the well-being of the ministry. This position requires an individual that has spiritual, personal, and professional maturity which enables them to serve in a team ministry.

Children’s Ministry Areas of Responsibility:

- Establish a clear vision and goals for the children’s ministries and design and implement strategies for achieving such vision and goals in collaboration with the Ministry Committee and Elders
- Select, evaluate and implement curriculum that is theologically sound, children effective, and teacher friendly
- Come alongside and equip parents to fulfill their role as the primary disciplers of children
- Recruit, train, assist, observe, encourage, and give constructive guidance to children’s ministry volunteers in the various areas of our children’s ministry
- Responsible for coordination and all aspects of weekly children's worship and Sunday school for infant through 5th grade
- Coordinate and communicate with the Director of our Bread of Life preschool as needed
- Work with and guide/support volunteer leaders of Friday night AWANA program, Friday night summer program, and Harmonies in Christ children’s choir special performances.
- Plan and execute special outreach events: VBS, Harvest Fest fall festival, Easter, Christmas, etc.
- Guild and develop children’s ministry volunteers especially youth
- Communicate philosophy and vision of Bread of Life Church in person and in writing to parents, visitors, and general congregations
- Develop and implement safety and security processes for the Children's ministry in corporation with the church's safety and security committee
- In preaching and teaching the word of God, shall uphold the standard consistent with the Articles of Faith of the church
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget for the Ministry Department in relation to Children’s Ministry
- Participate in weekly staff meetings
- Participate in Weekly congregational and monthly church wide prayer meetings
- As part of the ministry staff, assist the senior pastor by caring for the spiritual wellbeing of church members, other ministry department staff members, lay board members and coworkers
- Shall be responsible for other matters which the Senior Pastor delegates

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- Theological education a plus
- Previous Teaching and ministry experience with children
- Ability to communicate in Mandarin a plus

Terms of Employment:
- The criminal background check will be required
- Must be able to abide by the BOL articles of faith
- A minimum of three professional references
