CCUC is seeking a passionate and dedicated Associate (or Assistant) Pastor to serve our Mandarin-speaking congregation in the heart of Chicago’s Chinatown. This pastor will play a vital role in shepherding the church through evangelism, discipleship, preaching, pastoral care, and leadership development, in partnership with the Mandarin Ministry Team. The ideal candidate will be mission-minded, spiritually mature, and eager to engage with both long-time members and new immigrants from China.

Primary Responsibilities
A. Outreach Ministry
• Equip and mobilize members to form and lead Gospel Teams for evangelistic outreach.
• Participate in outreach efforts at the Pui Tak Center and help integrate new believers into the life of the church.
B. Pastoral Ministry
• Preach sermons during worship services.
• Lead or support Sunday school classes and small group ministries.
• Provide pastoral care through visitation, counseling, and prayer.
C. Leadership Development
• Actively participate in pastoral staff meetings, Deacon Board meetings, and Mandarin Ministry Team (MMT) meetings.
• Identify and mentor new lay leaders to support the spiritual growth and sustainability of the congregation.
D. Administrative and Additional Duties
• Assist with administrative tasks and support ministry operations.
• Carry out other responsibilities as assigned.
Ordination & Theological Training
• Must be an ordained pastor, aligned with evangelical Christian doctrine.
• Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from an accredited evangelical seminary.
Experience
• Experience serving in a Mandarin-speaking congregation, preferably with Chinese speaking immigrants.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills in working with lay leaders and ministry teams.
Doctrinal Alignment
• Fully agrees with the CCUC Statement of Faith and mission statement.
Language Proficiency
• Fluent in both spoken and written Mandarin Chinese and English.
