Chino Valley Community Church (CVCC) is a Bible-believing, evangelical community church with Baptist affiliations (Converge) located in Chino Hills, sunny Southern California. On a typical Sunday we average 900+ adults and over 1200 attendees of all ages. We are passionate about discipleship, therefore our mission of – “We exist to glorify God by being and making disciples of Christ.” We have a vibrantly growing Chinese (Mandarin-speaking) fellowship that is transitioning to a Chinese Ministry. Chinese Ministry Pastor - Mandarin

Position Overview

1) The Chinese Ministry Pastor will provide leadership, development, and direction for the expanding Chinese Ministry of CVCC. The Pastor will partner with the current Chinese fellowship leaders to be and make disciples of Christ in accord with the CVCC mission.
2) The Chinese Ministry Pastor will lead and actively recruit, train, and disciple volunteer leaders for the Chinese Ministry of CVCC.
3) Work closely with Deacons and leaders to shepherd the Chinese Ministry flock.
4) The Chinese Ministry Pastor will focus on preaching, teaching, equipping, and discipling the people in the Chinese Ministry of CVCC.

6. Culturally Accomplished: Be able to interact with both Chinese (Mandarin) and English-speaking people while leading and teaching within a dual cultural environment.

Becoming a member of CVCC and acceptance/commitment to the CVCC Statement of Faith and Purity Agreement are prerequisites for the hiring of this position.

Job Description

1. Responsible for the implementation of the overall discipleship strategies of the Mandarin-speaking attendees.
2. Regular preaching and teaching during Sunday and mid-week gatherings in the Chinese Ministry.
3. Recruit, train, and mentor ministry volunteers
4. Collaborate with the senior pastor and other staff in strategic planning, ministry expansion, and overall church vision alignment.
5. Attend staff meetings, administer, and manage the Chinese Ministry budget and support the planning of other all-church events.
6. Provide Biblical counseling and spiritual encouragement as needed.
7. Other responsibilities as necessary or as assigned by the Senior Pastor and/or the elder board.

Qualifications

- Meets and commits to Biblical leadership qualifications.
- Masters of Divinity (MDiv) or other equivalent seminary degrees from an accredited seminary.
- 3+ years of full-time ministry experience in a Mandarin-speaking church
- Must be fluent in Mandarin, both written and verbal. Must be able to communicate well in English. Must be familiar with Chinese culture and people dynamics.
- Skilled in delivering engaging, Biblically sound preaching and teaching
- Must be able to navigate and thrive in a bilingual work environment.
- Successful history of building, leading, and motivating effective teams
