Detroit Chinese Alliance North (DCAN) is a growing Chinese Christian church committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ among Chinese families and the broader community in Metro Detroit. www.dcanchurch.org

God has blessed DCAN with two vibrant outreach ministries:
• DCAN Chinese School, serving many local Chinese families every weekend.
• DCAN Summer Camp, which welcomes a large number of children and youth each summer.

These ministries provide meaningful opportunities to build relationships with students and their families and serve as bridges for introducing them to Christ and integrating them into the life of the church.

We are seeking a passionate Youth Pastor who has a heart for teenagers, a love for discipleship, and a vision to help students grow into lifelong followers of Jesus.

Full-time

Spiritual Leadership
• Lead students into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Teach God’s Word through biblically sound, engaging, and age-appropriate lessons.
• Disciple students toward spiritual maturity, Christian character, and servant leadership.
• Encourage students to discover and use their spiritual gifts.
Youth Ministry
• Oversee both the Middle School and High School ministries.
• Plan and lead weekly youth gatherings, Bible studies, worship, and fellowship events.
• Organize retreats, camps, mission opportunities, conferences, and special events.
• Build a welcoming environment where every student feels loved, accepted, and challenged to grow spiritually.
Outreach & Connection
• Develop meaningful relationships with students who participate in DCAN Chinese School and Summer Camp.
• Create intentional pathways that help outreach students become connected to the youth ministry and church community.
• Partner with volunteers to follow up with new students and families.
• Help cultivate an evangelistic culture among youth.
Parent Partnership
• Build strong relationships with parents.
• Equip and encourage parents as the primary spiritual influence in their children’s lives.
• Maintain regular communication with families regarding ministry activities and student development.
Volunteer Development
• Recruit, train, mentor, and support adult volunteers and youth leaders.
• Foster a healthy leadership team that models Christlike character and servant leadership.
• Provide opportunities for students to grow into future ministry leaders.
Church Ministry
• Collaborate with the pastoral staff and ministry leaders to support the overall mission and vision of DCAN.
• Participate in church-wide events and ministry planning.
• Work with church leadership to develop long-term strategies for youth discipleship and outreach.

The ideal candidate will:
• Have a vibrant and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Affirm the church’s Statement of Faith and ministry philosophy.
• Demonstrate a clear calling to youth ministry.
• Possess strong biblical teaching and preaching abilities.
• Have experience working with middle school and high school students.
• Be passionate about evangelism, discipleship, and mentoring young people.
• Build healthy relationships with students, parents, volunteers, and church leaders.
• Communicate effectively in English.
Preferred Qualifications
• Seminary education or theological training.
• Experience serving in a Chinese or multicultural church.
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin Chinese is a plus but not required.
• Experience leading outreach ministries or community engagement.
