​New Hope Christian Church Woodlands (NHCCW, https://nhcclife.org/english/) is a fast-growing, evangelical, Bible-believing church located in the greater Houston area. Each Sunday morning, we hold both Chinese and English services at 7575 Alden Bridge Dr., The Woodlands, TX 77382. Our average weekly attendance is around 300, comprising approximately 180 adults in the Chinese congregation, 60 adults and youth in the English congregation, and about 60 children.
We are seeking an English Pastor with strong leadership abilities, a passion for shepherding God’s people, and a deep commitment to God’s ministry to help meet the needs of our growing ministry. This is a full-time position offering a competitive benefits package, including health, dental, and term life insurance, as well as a 403(b) retirement plan. The role also provides a continuing education budget and flexibility to pursue further studies.

English Pastor

Full-time

1.Coordinate and Lead Worship: Organize Sunday worship services and deliver weekly sermons.
2.Oversee Christian Education: Supervise the English Sunday School program.
3.Ministry Planning: Develop and implement plans for the English ministry in alignment with NHCCW’s vision and mission.
4.Spiritual Care: Provide spiritual counseling and support to members of the English congregation.
5.Faith Formation: Encourage and guide members and seekers in strengthening their personal relationship with God and fostering spiritual growth.
6.Discipleship: Offer discipleship training and mentorship within the English congregation.
7.Leadership Development: Train and equip volunteers and lay leaders for service in the English ministry.
8.Churchwide Collaboration: Support churchwide initiatives, serve on committees as appointed, and collaborate with other congregations.
9.Leadership Participation: Work closely with church leadership, attend council meetings, and help promote church unity.
10.Administer Sacraments: Officiate Holy Sacraments, including communion, baptism, weddings, memorial services, and lead seasonal celebrations (e.g., Easter, Christmas).
11.Evaluate and Grow Ministry: Regularly assess English ministry programs and develop strategies to foster congregational growth.
12.Small group ministry: Provide oversight and support for the church’s small group ministry by encouraging growth, guiding leaders, and fostering fellowship and discipleship within the community.

1.Clear Divine Calling: A confirmed and evident calling from God to shepherd His flock, in alignment with 1 Peter 5:1–4.
2.Godly Character and Testimony: A life marked by integrity and a strong, consistent testimony of faith, meeting the biblical standards outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1–13.
3.Leadership Ability: Demonstrated skill and experience in leading and equipping lay leaders within the church.
4.Preaching and Teaching Gifts: Proven effectiveness in preaching and teaching God’s Word.
5.Doctrinal Alignment: Full agreement with NHCCW’s theological position, statement of faith, and church bylaws.
6.Educational Background: A Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree or higher from an accredited seminary.
7.Relevant Pastoral Experience: A minimum of five years of pastoral ministry experience, preferably within an Asian American church context in North America.
8.Multicultural and Second-Generation Ministry: Experience and demonstrated ability to minister effectively in a multicultural setting, particularly among second-generation immigrants.
