陳傳道畢業於台灣的清華大學，隨後赴美深造取得碩士學位。留學時受聖靈感動而信主，並開始在教會事奉，也參與各種宣教團隊。他原來從事 IT管理工作，於2014年時被神呼召為跨文化宣教士，因而辭去 IT工作進入正道神學院接受神學裝備。

2014年八月起 ISIS在中東肆虐攻擊無辜平民造成了許多難民，於是陳傳道協同妻子於2016年開始參與北伊拉克救助難民的醫療宣教隊。之後並於神學院畢業後以在當地大學教書為平臺，進入北伊拉克開始從事校園和難民的長宣事工。當2020年新冠肺炎開始蔓延，陳傳道夫婦暫時回到洛杉磯，以 Online方式持續進行在北伊拉克的宣教事工，與當地的學生和難民有持續的接觸，同時也輔導在當地的其他華裔宣教士。2022年間，陳傳道受神感動而撰寫了一本專為穆宣宣教士而寫的《穆宣手冊》，希望從實務的角度幫助被神呼召從事穆宣事工的宣教士們。

陳傳道於 2024 年 1 月接受正道神學院院長的邀請，正式加入正道福音神學院擔任拓展處主任，負責神學院對内對外拓展業務，包括與基金奉獻者、各教會之牧長領袖、及各機構領袖等關係之建立，以及籌款和招生等業務。也開始了神賦予他的新的使命。

Minister Michael Chen graduated from Tsinghua University in Taiwan in the 80s, and then went to the United States to further his Graduate School studies. While studying in the US, he was inspired by the Holy Spirit and accepted the Lord as his savior. He began to serve in the church and participated in various missionary teams. His original career was in IT management, but in 2014 he was called by God to engage in missionary ministry, so he quit his IT job and entered Logos Evangelical Seminary to receive further theological education.

In August 2014, ISIS started wreaking havoc on innocent civilians in the Middle East, resulting in many refugees. Therefore, Minister Chen and his wife began to participate in a medical missionary team in Northern Iraq to rescue refugees in 2016. Then, after graduating from the seminary, he and his wife used teaching at a local university as a platform to enter Northern Iraq and engage in long-term missionary work on campus and for refugees. When the COVID-19 epidemic began to spread in 2020, Minister Chen and his wife temporarily returned to Los Angeles and continued their missionary work in Northern Iraq via online, from which, they continuous contacted with local students and refugees, and mentored other Chinese missionaries in the area as well. In 2022, Minister Chen was inspired by God and wrote a “Muslim Ministry Manual” specially written for Muslim missionaries, hoping to help missionaries called by God to engage in Muslim missions from a practical perspective.

In January 2024, Minister Chen accepted the offer from the president of Logos Evangelical Seminary and officially joined the seminary as the Director of the Advancement. He will be responsible for the outreaching and advancement of business development of the seminary, including fund raising, partnership with pastoral leaders of various churches, establishing relationships with leaders of various Christian organizations, as well as student recruitments. To him, this is more a mission assigned to him by God than a job offered by the institute.
