Library Hours

  1. Regular Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 am – 5:30 pm
  2. If there are intensive classes over the weekend, the library will be opened on weekends accordingly:
    • Friday: 6:30 pm – 10:00 pm
    • Saturday: 9:00 am – 7:00 pm
    • Sunday: 2:00 pm – 6:30 pm

Eligible Users:

  1. Current full-time and part-time students at Logos Evangelical Seminary – Chicago Campus. (LTI students need to show proof of registration.)
  2. Members of the Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, and alumni (D.Min., Th.M., M.Div., M.A., Diploma, and EFC lay minister programs) of Logos Evangelical Seminary – Chicago Campus.
  3. Evangelical Formosan Church of Chicago (EFCC) ministers, elders, and deacons who oversee education ministry at their respective church.
  4. Members of the United Chinese Churches of Chicago (UCCC).

Library Identification Card (ID) Application:

  1. All patrons must fill out a Library Patron Contact Information and apply for a library ID.
  2. The library only accepts library ID applications during business hours.
  3. The library ID application fee is $5.00.

  2. Patrons’ expiration of privilege:
    • For staff, at the end of employment; for students, at the end of enrollment; for graduates, available until the end of the year.
    • For members of EFCC, UCCC etc., validity of library privileges is re-assessed yearly.
    • Alumni can access our library for life. First-time applicants’ membership expire after one year; membership must be renewed every 5 years thereafter.
  3. Every patron may access their online account via their login name. The initial password is the last 4 digits of your phone number.
  4. Patrons may log in their online account to:
    • Place holds: reserve only for checked out book, 3 holds both in Chinese and English.
    • Renew books: one renewal available while no others on hold.
    • View the checked out items, due dates, and reading history; create reading lists; change password; etc.
  5. Patrons are responsible for knowing and abiding by the rules and regulations of the library. The library reserves the right to terminate any patron’s borrowing privileges.
  6. Visitors without a library ID are welcome to use the library’s resources within the library.

Borrowing Rules:

  1. All library materials (books & media) can only be checked out with a valid library ID.
  2. Reference books and periodical cannot be checked out. All reserve books may only be used inside the library for two hours at a time. Books may not be taken out in consecutive sessions, unless there is no one waiting.
  3. Please return all borrowed materials to the return box at the circulation desk.
  4. If books are damaged or lost, a $6.00 processing fee per book is charged if the responsible party brings in a replacement. Otherwise, a $12.00 processing fee will be charged in addition to the price of the book.
  5. Students with outstanding debts to the library will not be allowed to check out books nor will they be eligible for graduation until the debt has been fully paid.
  6. The library system will not process new checkouts until overdue item(s) have been renewed or returned.
  7. Borrowing privileges are not transferable. To avoid possible disputes, we strongly discourage checking out books on behalf of a fellow student.
  8. For each overdue item, there is a fine of $0.20 per day.

Reading Room Regulations:

  1. Food is prohibited in the library.
  2. Beverages are permitted only in covered containers (bottles, cups with lids, etc.).
  3. Lengthy conversations and cell phone conversations are prohibited in the reading room.

Using Library Books:

  1. Leave no marks, stains, or creases on the books and periodicals.
  2. Place books on the cart after usage. Please do not re-shelve books.
  3. Take great care and protect the physical integrity of the books.
